Epson LX1170 Impact Printer
Impact printers are more commonly known as dot matrix printers. They are very popular and have a lot of advantages to its list. Epson is a reputed manufacturer in the field of electronic devices and they have introduced the Epson LX1170 Impact Printer. Apart from impact printers they also manufacture laser as well as inkjet printers. The new LX1170 is a 9 pin monochrome dot matrix printer.
Compact in its size, this new impact printer comes with a width of 54.6 cm, a depth of 27.5 cm and a height of 16.3 cm. With a weight of just 6.3 Kg, this printer can be easily moved from one place to another and it makes the device more compact.
For using this Epson impact printer, your system should be using any of the following OS:
• Microsoft Windows NT 3.51
• Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
• Microsoft Windows 3.x/95/98
• Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition
• Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP
It will not support any other OS.
The connectivity options supported by this printer include:
• 1 x parallel - IEEE 1284 (EPP/ECP) - 36 PIN Centronics
• 1 x serial - RS-232C - 9 pin D-Sub (DB-9)
This new impact printer supports various print speeds. It can print up to 337 characters per second in fast draft mode at 12 cpi, up to 300 characters per second in fast draft mode at 10 cpi and up to 270 characters per second in draft mode at 12 cpi. The maximum print resolution of Epson LX1170 Impact Printer in black and white is 12 cpi x 12 cpi.
The maximum media size supported by the printer is 420 mm (A2) x 559 mm and the other supported media sizes are 364 x 420 mm and Roll (40.6 cm x 55.9 cm). The device can print on envelopes, labels, plain paper and also on continuous forms.
The cartridge duty cycle or the cartridge duty cycle of the printer is 400 million characters. The device also has an installed RAM of 8 KB. The fonts included in the printer are 8 x barcode and 4 x scalable. The barcodes supported are:
